We’ve just heard that new owners have taken over at The Poet Laureate. More details shortly.
This meeting is open to all members of the PRA. It’s a chance to hear updates from and ask questions of the PRA committee members on current issues in Poundbury. A senior representative from the Duchy will be present to give the latest news on The Great Field and the Jubilee Hall consultation. The new General Manager of The Duchess of Cornwall will be there to introduce himself and tell us about his future plans. Roger Frapwell, Pastor of the Community Church will give a short talk, discuss the role he hopes the church will play in the local community and answer questions.
This meeting is an opportunity for residents to have their say on current local issues and raise their own concerns about life in Poundbury. Please come and get involved. We look forward to seeing you!
If you’re new to Poundbury – or are moving here in the near future – come along to the Poet Laureate in Pummery Square. It’s a chance to meet other new residents, swap experiences, meet PRA Committee members and find out more about Poundbury. It’s a totally informal evening. Many residents have made lasting friendships at these evenings so please do come along if you can.
Sunday 19th of August saw the first Poundbury WI Summer Picnic.
It was held on the lawn of the Duchy offices just across from the garden centre. A lovely afternoon was had by the WI members and their familys. With garden games, cream scones and a huge selection of savouries which were enjoyed by all.
There was a competition tent with cake, jam and flower categories. Judging the flower category was local resident Jay Cockett of Floral Couture by Jay.
Congratulations to the winning posey by Moira
